Spellborn: If you could change...? - acid-burn - 02-11-2010

I see your point of view but still, I find it more friendly to ba able to chat with everyone without having to change servers, especialy if you want to quest. I think been able to enable a pvp mode a the touch of a key better. I think it should be the player's choice to chose wether he/she wants to run arround the worls pvp enabled or pvp disabled. The implementation shouldn't be that difficult:

1. only in safe zones the use would be able to chage the pvp/pve mode so that players who are pvp enabled can not run out of a fight by switching modes any time they want.

2. PvE players should not be able to attack PvP players and vice versa.

3. Players must be able to so see who is pvp enabled or disabled by the use of a floating icon or by text color on the character name.

4. Add 2 chat channels one PvP only channel and one for PVE

The reason why I think this is the best aproach, is:

1: The costs of running 2 servers

2: Ease of mantainance, when patching/updating the game updating 1 server avoids having differences between worlds. Ex: the loot/drop tables were different between the pvp and pve servers.

3: Mantaining guilds on 2 servers is extremely anoying

I can think of more reasons but I think these summerize it prety ok. Of course you are free to your opinion but I would love to heare the insight of the DEVs too.

Greetings,

Acid-Burn

Clickable ladders are low-skill! [Image: default_tongue.png]

Nah, I actually liked how ladders worked and I didn't find them any hard to use...

Yeah, unless the ladder's broken and you fall down the hole for no real reason....

I guess that's something that'd be nice if it'd change: working ladders...

Clickable ladders ftw ;'D

Definitely clickable ladders, it simply was not fair dying trying to manoever ladders successfully.

I also don't agree with a quest tracker.

The lack of one encouraged camaraderie, enabled players to think more and make more ingame friendships.  It forced us to help each other, and it was fun finding our way together [Image: default_smile.png] xx

I too liked to do quests together but sometines I just couldn't find the person even if it was only 10 metres away becuz it was hided too good. Then a lil help is always good. Hehe

And those ladders? I didnt even try it at a point never managed to do it good lol. Clicking will be good Smile

If i could change anything i would have put more effort into advertising this game. personally i find games via their news on major gaming websites, ad's on websites, and the occasional sweep of an MMO list looking for new names.
