It only works with the 0.9.0.0 Beta Client atm.

Ok great! I got it working yesterday [Image: default_smile.png] Only had time to check it out really quick. Will log in again tonight.

Just one (for me important) question. What is the reason we are using the beta version and not the latest patch?

The version of Exarchyon included in the beta is a really old (and crappy version), and I'd like to be able to run around in the newest version (which I worked on the most)

It's because all newer client versions include gameguard.

The fact, that there is no access to the gameguard server makes it impossible to run the newer clients.

 

There already some ideas to bypass that, but atm it's not possible.

Apparently bypassing gameguard is well documented on the internet but it's not what we are focusing on currently. But if someone with the required skills and/or motivation could do that and document it it would be awesome !

I have to add that personally even when TCoS was still up I was unable to launch the game at some point for an unknown reason, a bug never fixed and that I still have. (Error 196).

 

Btw Zer0.BE, do you know how the doors and chairs and interactive level elements were "activated" by the player ? We managed to activate mailbox but the process seems more complicated at least for doors and chairs (and World portals which seem to not be InteractiveLevelElement at all). We managed to activate them on the client (from a programmatic point of view), but are currently searching how to actually open the door when clicking on the radial menu option.

I don't know if the athenaeum was allready present at that version, but at least the vaults are visible and can be entered with a little coding.

 

I'm checking the different files with my tool right now.

World_ID: 604

Starting location for Athenaeum docks: X=13286.81, Y=52277.96, Z=-30950.22

According to the universe file the world ID should be 604 but it's not taking me anywhere

Pretty sure it was there from the beginning. If you can access the old Exarchyon and the Ormuburu Ancestral Quest, I'm sure we should be able to access that map

By the way, not sure how this works. But I'm guessing gameguard checked for files that were tampered with right? Isn't it possible to replace the old exarchyon (or all maps/staticmeshes/..) with the files from the newest patch? And so play the beta version with the most up to date maps, since gameguard isn't running there?
