Source: (it's in dutch though): http://control-online.nl/gamesindustrie/...n-de-game/

Do keep in mind it's from 2010/08/11 (11th of August), so it can be outdated!

To be continued!”

Translation:

Quote:Erik 't Sas, founder of Khaeon, who was once the driving force behind the grand-scale MMORPG The Chronicles of Spellborn. Officially, he hasn't got anything to do with the game anymore since a few years, but he and his team invested years of their life of their life in the game. And in September it seems the game will go down defintive.

t' Sas: "It stays your child. Ofcourse it does something to you, fighting years against all expectations and deliver a game that has amused quite a few people. But good, apart from that piece of nostalgia it is already a game from 6 years ago, and there hasn't been worked on activly on it since 2008 and the core team of Spellborn Works has been working elsewhere for quite a while now.

"And for promotion there hasn't been anything at all and also with the studio Spellborn as well as the game stagnation is leading to the end. We get mails of the community who tell us their tale and their wishes on continuation of Spellborn. They don't get any hearings with Spellborn NV nor the publishers and they come to us as makers; Should there be any plans to do anything with Spellborn, we haven't heard anything from it yet. I see it as it's over definitivly and with that this also closes for Khaeon foregood. We are very proud of the prestation we've deliverd, we shall never lose that."

He ends with: "No more concentration on what was and what could be, but what lies ahead of us. To be continued!"

So even someone like Erik 't Sas believes the game is doomed. At least he acknowledged the fan mails.

I'm sad.

Spellborn is back!

I'm sad too, but Frogster said they wouldn't be giving up this game easily. Our hope is still with them. Smile

I still believe there's nothing in court going on between Spellborn NV and Frogster about the rights though... Frogster has its Spellborn V2 version just sitting on their servers waiting maybe endlessly. I do want this game to continue even when it's changed a bit... but I have little hope.

Maybe that's true, Cow, but seems unlikely that Frogster wouldn't try to get their '7 digit number' amount of money back if they could get it back. It's dead now for both Spellborn as well as Frogster, so it seems unlikely they won't try to get the game back up to get some money back.
