Seems to me they will search another publisher. They invested 18 million euro's, that's a lot of money.

I think they invested that much into the game. But I bet they went out of this pretty even, without too much losses.

As Frogster is still interested in publishing the game, they should come to an agreement in the end, one should think.

But still, it might just happen that they will sit on this unfinished product and never rerelease it. Same thing also happened to other games.

Yeah around 18 mil was spent on making the game.

And hello to Sabre. Good to see you around! How are you and your twins and older son (and fiance) all doing?  [Image: default_biggrin.png] I'm soon to start a family of my own in October, first little hoppy is due then.  ;D

It's said here (yes in dutch) that they dutch investors put 18 million euros into the production of the game:

However I don't know if they made break-even with the game. If anyone knows, please share, I for one, doubt that they did.

And as you say: it might very well be that they'll sit on it. But with Duke Nukem Forever finally seeing daylight very soon after all these years and a horrible development cycle, I do think we can have some hope of ever seeing Spellborn again.

I, for one, am very happy to see that this forum is slowly replacing Acclaim's [Image: default_biggrin.png]

Happy to know that we fans now have a place to gather as was my intention from the beginning... and i'm so happy it's working out.

By the way, this site can grow to be more than a forum. If anyone suggest something, we might change things. We are being run for you guys, so feel free to suggest!

Quote:I tipped the news to Massively.com as they weren't aware of Acclaim shutting down. Rubi Bayer made a small post out of it.

Lol, they already did two former pieces when we were unable to play. Just search The Chronicles of Spellborn on their site [Image: default_biggrin.png] x

I read Massively daily, it's one of my favourite newssites out there. They've got some good writers as well.

As for me tipping the news to them this is the third time I've tipped them Spellborn news.

1) http://www.massively.com/2010/03/02/spel...se-market/

(They didn't mention me as the one who tipped it though.)

2) http://www.massively.com/2010/06/29/chro...ting-down/

3) http://www.massively.com/2010/08/17/chro...st-hurrah/

Also tipped Acclaim shutting down:

PS: Edited your post to fit the comment.
